Greetings Highlands neighbors – our next regular PBHCIA meeting will be Tuesday, November 7. Our special guest will be Russell Ketchem, City of Pompano Beach, Public Works Asst. Director to discuss regular trash pick-up, bulk waste, and hurricane debris in the Highlands.
It promises to be an enlightening evening. Please try to attend with relevant observations and respectful questions of our public servants. If you have questions but cannot attend, you can forward questions via email.

FEMA has opened an assistance center in Pompano Beach, at the Larkins Center, 520 NW 3rd St. Representatives will be on site from 8 am to 4pm, to assist residents in applying for relief requests.

Our PBHCIA meeting this Tuesday will be an important one, as the City Manager has promised to attend. We hope to get information from him about storm recovery efforts, and have a general discussion about neighborhood issues. Please try to attend and let your neighbors know. The new WaWa on Sample Road is opening tomorrow, 7/27, with a parade and ribbon cutting at 1 pm. Free food and giveaways are expected.

Happy Independence day, our next Pompano Beach Highlands Civic Improvement Assn. meeting will be AUGUST 1, 2017. That coincides with National Night Out, and we hope to have some special events to encourage folks to get out of the house and mingle with neighbors.
Due to recent rains, mosquito breeding is on the rise. To report excessive mosquito populations, or standing water conditions, please contact Dario our code compliance inspector. Also, call Broward County (954) 765-1543, mosquito control division, and they will determine if spraying is warranted.
